The Natural Home for FFFLAIR
The Waikanae area of Kapiti has long been renowned for its leafy streets and gardens which are a haven for garden lovers young and old. Built on rich free draining alluvial plains at the foot of the Tararua Ranges, this coastal gem enjoys an enviable sheltered microclimate that is perfect for growing plants. The tradition of gardening actually goes back centuries to when Te Atiawa established large cultivation grounds in the early 1800’s, known as Ngahuruhuru on the northern side of the Waikanae River. This area was extensive, covering what is now El Rancho Christian Holiday Park and stretching all the way to the Waikanae river mouth.
